Courtney Pearson, Kate Ryan, Jessie Johnson, Jessica Snaize and Erica White represented Victoria and Geelong proudly. The Geelong players all played well and Jessie Johnson was selected in then Australian Country Women’s Team and Courtney Pearson was selected in the Australian Country U21 team.
Winning a gold medal and only letting in 3 goals for the entire championships is a truly special effort by Jessie, especially at National level.
Stuart Hyslop was also part of the Victorian Country Women’s team as Assistant Coach.
Further to the success of the women, The Victorian Country Men’s team finished with Silver. A result well deserved but to put things in perspective they were also very close to securing Gold. Will Jackson, Jack Chadwick, Kieran Symons and James Humphries represented Geelong and all played a part in the Men’s team success.
The Gold Medal match finished in a nil all draw and went to shoot outs. The men trying their best but NSW seemed to be the better at finishing on with the shoot outs.
Both Will and Jack were selected to represent Australia in the Country Men’s teams and Kieran in the U21 team.
Great recognition for the Geelong players and congratulations to all for their efforts at the National Carnival.
